Vintage Fur

So now we have a very small collection of Vintage Fur and they have to be vintage fur as we in no way promote or condone the use of fur for fashion

On occasion I get given Grandmas or even Great Grandmas old fur coat.

Now back in the early 1900’s before women were allowed bank accounts or their own money, if they were lucky enough they owned a fur coat.

Not just mink but all sorts of fur and this wasn’t reserved just the rich, some lucky enough to be gifted but the ones that I have come into contact with were worked hard for or saved for but all this coats were held in high value and regard.

Obviously as time has gone on we are now against the killing of animals just for beauty but what do we do with the coats that are in existence.

Well I have thought long and hard about this dilemma and it took me over a year to process the first coat, and the conclusion I came up with was that:
These items of clothing were once highly valued and a large amount of animals gave their lives for this idea of beauty.

For that coat to now be buried in landfill or burnt in an incinerator would be a waste of that animals life.

To give the pelts back value and make them useable and beautiful once again not only revalues the life of the animal but pays back respect to the women, whom of that time had nothing but literally the coats on their backs.

So a very small luxury range of Weekend Travel Bags have been created.
