This sofa to date is my smelliest yet.
The new owners took possession of the house and this was left as a moving in gift. Upon stripping the underneath was mouldy so first thing was a gentle bleach wash to kill any bacteria then it had at least 3/4 goes with saddle soap, and the water changed to a very murky shade of brown.
Undeterred, the leather was cut into patterns and sewn.
These bags have been wrapped in newspaper for 1 month before reaching for the big guns and insustrial strength cleaner was deployed to decontaminate this leather……. Mission accomplished and now the leather resumes its smell of leather.
These tote bags are a fab example of when something is literally at the brink of no return you can with a lot of effort bring them back into the realms of beautiful. Each one interlined and lined with an internal zipped pocket these are 100% unique.
